Since 2022, we've worked with a wide-range of different businesses to design, scope, build, and maintain web and mobile apps. Now, with super-stable foundations and more and more opportunities headed this way, we're looking to add another dev to our team.
Full-stack Developer (PHP/Laravel) - Remote
About the role
You'll join our close-knit team of developers and be onboarded onto some of our ongoing projects. Once up to speed, you'll take on the same responsibilities as your new colleagues, including:
• Scoping, designing and developing new features and change requests.
• Writing and running tests for new and existing features.
• Refactoring existing codebases for maximum performance and efficiency.
• Debugging software when something goes wrong.
• Handling client communications via Jira tickets, emails, and the odd video call.
• And a lot of the other stuff you'd expect, like documentation, upgrades, etc.
And you'll be doing that across a range of different projects each month, working on a variety of codebases for our range of clients.
What we're looking for
In order to hit the ground running, you'll need at least 2 years of experience working with the following:
• PHP (Laravel)
• JS (React/Angular/Vue or similar)
As a result of that experience, you should have a good foundation in OOP and back-end development which will serve you well here. Experience with MySQL and Git would be great, but they're not absolutely essential. Any experience designing and consuming RESTful services and APIs would also be advantageous.
Naturally, as a developer, you'll be a strong problem solver. You'll also be focused and able to organise and prioritise your workload effectively. You'll also be capable of professionally communicating with customers and, importantly, you'll be comfortable doing that.
Although the role is fully-remote, we do prefer to have colleagues within travelling distance, so in a perfect world you'll be in or around the Staffordshire area.
What's in it for you
The salary range for this role spans right from £30,000 to £40,000, depending on your experience. Other benefits include:
• Remote working - right from day dot, Codebased has been a fully-remote business. There's the opportunity to join the team at hot desks in Stafford once a week though if you fancy it, traditionally followed by board games and free pizza.
• Flexible working - most of our team members work the same hours but there's always opportunity for flexibility when you need it.
• Professional development - the growth and development of individuals directly benefits our team as a whole. If you've got your eye on a professional course/qualification, let's have a chat and see how we can help.
• Career development - we might be small right now, but we're growing. We're confident we can offer you opportunities for progression both professionally and financially.
• Proper hardware - all of our team members use the latest MacBook Pros. We're also more than happy to help you deck out your home set-up with whatever you need to do your best work, within reason.
• Real work/life balance - we know you need a good break after a full day of dev. All of our team members enjoy a real work/life balance with Slack on mute and zero expectation of being reachable outside work hours.
• All the social stuff - it's not mandatory by any means, but as a team we enjoy spending time together away from our laptops now and then. Usually, that's the aforementioned board games and pizzas, but a few times a year we give everyone a half day and head off somewhere a little more exciting. Our latest trip took us to Birmingham for gourmet burgers, arcade classics, and a couple of hours playing around with F1 simulators.
• And more.
